Bevan began his property career in 1993 after completing a Bachelor Business Studies, Valuation and Property Management at Massey University. To gain registration then requires a three year working internship, which Bevan completed to become a registered valuer in 1997.
Since 2000 Bevan has been an Associate of the Zealand Institute of Valuers, and is therefore a Senior Member of the New Zealand Property Institute (Canterbury Branch).
He has been a past Vice Chairman of the Canterbury Branch of the NZ Property Institute.
